The basketball program here at Clinton Community College hasn’t been successful in the past few years and this wasn’t due to lack of talent, it was because students were failing off the team. To put an end to this problem the coaches and some faculty members came up with the idea of having the student-athletes complete a conduct sheet every week to keep track of how they’re doing in each of their classes. Each player has stepped up and started doing better in their classes. In the coaches and faculty efforts to try to keep students eligible this is also helping students get there academic future in the right place and surprisingly this increases work ethic in the books and on the court. As a student athlete I know how hard it is to stay on top of things, but this has helped in a major way. It goes to show how much the Clinton staff as a whole cares about the students especially the teachers. They are always consistently signing and letting us know what we need to improve on and giving us the tools to do so.
